The museum's Health & Movement Science program supports Stage 6 outcomes through a 45-minute interactive presentation exploring how landmark research into smoking and lung cancer shaped Australian public health. Students then investigate real case studies in the Museum's preserved human tissue collection, using curriculum-linked worksheets to explore morbidity, mortality, risk factors, and health promotion. Year 11 Senior Commitment Ceremony
Date: Friday, 13/02/2026
Time: 8.30am to 9.30am
Transitioning into senior school is a pivotal moment in a young person’s life. It signals a shift toward more rigorous academic expectations, increased independence, and the development of skills essential for success beyond school.
The Year 11 Senior Commitment Ceremony symbolises the students’ readiness to embrace the responsibilities and challenges of senior school. It provides an opportunity for them to publicly affirm their commitment to their studies, their personal growth, and the values of our school community.
This ceremony is designed to acknowledge this change, to motivate students to set purposeful goals for the remainder of their school years, and build on the ongoing partnership between the school and parents/caregivers in providing high quality education. It is a time for reflection, recognition, and renewed dedication as students embarks on the next stage of their academic journey.
This year, the event will be held in the school hall on Friday 13th February from 8.30am to 9.30am.
