SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATIONS: Closed

 

Blacktown Boys' High School is a partially Selective High School and has

a selective class in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Students who have sat and been successful in the state Selective High School test have the option of nominating Blacktown Boys as their school preference. The selective stream will contain a stand-alone class, in each year and will be provided with curriculum appropriate to their abilities.

An Orientation meeting for our new Selective High School students and their parents is held annually in December. Date to be advised in 2020.

Applications for Year 8 to Year 10 in 2020 opens Friday 21 June 2019     and close 26 July 2019

Please note:

26 July 2019 is the closing date for application forms to be submitted to the chosen selective high schools.  Please note that a separate application must be submitted for each school.

A $50 non-refundable administration fee must be paid to Blacktown Boys High School at the time of lodging the application. 

 

Selection Procedures for entry to  

Blacktown Boys High School 

in Years 8 to 10

Vacancies may occur in Year 8 to Year 10 in the selective stream. The number of vacancies can vary from year to year and generally depend on the number of students who leave in the previous year.

The suitability of applications will be determined by a selection committee. The selection committee will consider the students to be offered placement and will establish a reserve list in order of priority based on academic merit.

Selection Criteria

The school application form requests details in a number of areas of expertise, as well as detailing the documentation required: academic excellence, music, public speaking, debating, performance, sport, leadership, school service, community service, competitions, reasons for selecting Blacktown Boys' High School, personal qualities.

The school will contact applicants with the outcome by early September.

Requests for review may be submitted within 14 days of the date on the outcome letter.
