Inclusive Education

Inclusive Education

Inclusive Education at Blacktown Boys High School has a significant role to play in lifting aspirations and improving outcomes of students with additional needs. As a faculty we will build an inclusive educational environment where students feel welcomed, thrive academically, develop good physical, mental, emotional health and gain the skills to live a fulfilling post school life. Our Inclusive students will be actively connected to their learning, have positive and respectful relationships, valued, encouraged and empowered to succeed in a conducive learning environment.

Students will be given the opportunity to study all the subjects offered at school in either discrete class or mainstream class depending on their year group.Stage 5 students are offered the opportunity to attend TAFE organised by careers advisor and undertake work experience. Students will attend extracurricular activities such as swimming carnival, athletics carnival, sports and all the celebrations at school.

Students are assessed for their literacy and numeracy skills and offered differentiated work according to their cognitive ability. Formative assessment tasks are used to gauge their learning skills.

Thank you.
